Hailing from Montreal, QC, The Dirty Tricks play with the brooding urgency of Drive Like Jehu with hints of southern rock and punk rock melodies à la Leatherface. They perform a perfect balancing act through their use of varied dynamics, refusal to set songs in safety-net tempos and rejection of hollow angst, and at the same time, never grinding their gears by putting all of their stock in innovation. That carries them to the top ranks of Montreal’s power-pop-punk outfits. Suited by this amazing artwork from Tommy Kitsos (The Night Marchers), this one-sided LP contains 2 new songs but what makes this release even more interesting is the download card; including bonus songs and unreleased demo tracks.

Restez bien en place, The Dirty Tricks sont de retour avec un nouvel album: Double Vison. Ils mélangent savamment leurs origines punk avec un rock plus récent, comme si le venin brulant de Hot Snakes se diluait avec Hot Water Music. The Dirty Tricks est sans compromis ; un rock puissant, original qui ne se compare à rien d’autre. C’est avec cette réputation qu’ils se sont taillé une place parmi les meilleurs groupes de la scène rock montréalaise. Cet album contient 2 nouvelles pièces du quintet, complémenté par Tommy Kitsos de la formation The Night Marchers qui s’est chargé du design artistique et graphique. Mais ce qui rend ce LP encore plus attrayant, c’est la carte de téléchargement qui y est inclus; comprenant plusieurs pièces inédites, un design visuel additionnel et des vidéos live.
