Experts en matière de punk-rock, de shows qui tournent rapidement en débauche et avec l’intention ferme de dominer la planète, BRIXTON ROBBERS nous revient avec un nom upgradé et un album en poche.

Ça joue ska, ça joue punk avec une touche de rock’n’roll, des influences reggae et hardcore, une chose est sûre; ça joue fort et ça n’a pas l’intention d’arrêter. Avec plus de 150 shows à leur actif, Nick Charbonneau, Mark Lamoureux, Max Ledoux et Matt Huot vous offre une nouvelle définition de « ska-punk ».

C’est quatre ans et beaucoup de bière plus tard que le groupe entre enfin en studio enregistrer son premier album. 13 pièces qui ont fait suer, sacrer et payer ardemment les gars, et qui dégagent une certaine maturité et un esprit de corps notoire, signe de l’évolution du groupe, autant au niveau des textes bien construits et du son punk mordant que de l’intensité des prestations. Le tout donne un heureux mélange de pièces rapides et festives avec une voix agressive.

Pour l’album le groupe a travaillé avec de grosses pointures, des artistes ayant collaboré avec des groupes bien établis de la scène locale canadienne. La pré-production de l’album a été réalisée par Mitch Girio (THE PLANET SMASHERS, THE KINGPINS, THE ONE NIGHT BAND) et enregistré, mixé et masterisé par Steve Rizun (THE FLATLINERS, ILL SCARLETT, THE CREEPSHOW). Sitôt sortis du studio, ils se voient accompagner (et conduire!) les vétérans du punk UK SUBS dans tout le pays lors de leur première tournée canadienne, chance que de nombreux groupes punk-rock souhaiteraient avoir un jour! C’est sur l’étiquette Big Wheel Records que BRIXTON ROBBERS sort son premier album Rocks And Cranes le 28 août 2009.

Experts in the punk rock domain, in shows that rapidly turn into drunken ragers, BRIXTON ROBBERS return with a new name, a record and a firm intention of taking over the world.

They play ska, the play punk with some touches of Rock n’ Roll, also dipping into some hardcore and reggae, but most of all they play fast and don’t plan on slowing down anytime soon. Having played over 150 shows across Canada and the USA with such bands as UK Subs, Streetlight Manifesto, The Planet Smashers, Nick Charbonneau, Mark Lamoureux, Max Ledoux, and Matt Huot offer a new definition of ska-punk.

It is four years after it’s formation that the band finally enters the studio to records a full length record. Through sweat, swears and a few (many) bucks came 13 songs that show the band’s evolution and chemistry with a mix of fast paced and festive songs all of which are delivered through gritty vocals.

The band put the record together with some of the scene’s finest. First off pre production was done by Mitch Girio (The Planet Smashers, The Kingpins, One Night Band) and the recording by Steve Rizun (The Flatliners, Ill Scarlett, The Creepshow). Rocks and Cranes was later released on Big Wheel Records on August 28th 2009 then Guerilla Asso decided to release it in Europe in early 2010.
